The product:
A responsive website that provides prospective adopters with a unique adoption user flow for an animal shelter

Project duration:
July 2022 - August 2022


The problem:
Users feel that pet profiles provided on animal shelter websites provide a limited amount of information and photos of the animals


The goal:
To provide users with detailed animal profiles that included videos of
 the adoptable animals


My role:
UX/UI Designer


Responsibilities:
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wire-framing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs

1. Overwhelmed with the number of adoptable animals available
Users felt overwhelmed with the number of animals listed on the animal shelter websites.

2. Conflicted with who to apply for
Users felt they couldn’t get a full sense of the animals listed on shelter websites

3. A large number of pages to navigate through
Users wanted a more streamlined adoption application process

User Persona: Jessica
Problem statement:
Jessica is a prospective adopter with a busy lifestyle
who needs to know more about the animal's she is interested in adopting
because she wants to make the right choice for her lifestyle

The animal's profile includes a video clip of the animal to help the user get a full sense of what the pet's temperament is like before they apply to adopt.

Accessibility considerations 
1. All elements have a contrast ratio of 4:1 or higher

2. All elements have been checked for readability depending on all varieties of colour blindness

3. All text abides by standard accessibility guidelines

What I learned:
I learned that animal shelters on the market often have limited images provided 
of their adoptable animals which may affect the rate animals are adopted.
